I am trying to link my feeder to my account, however every time I try and perform the “link feeder” I just get an error that a feed was not detected from my IP address with no further guidance except to retry the automated setup.
The feeder is discoverable on the MLAT map and has been feeding successfully for weeks. The problem seems to be that it is not linked with my IP. No, neither I nor the pi are on a VPN and Yes, it has been longer (much longer) than 24 hours. If I had to speculate it is because the feeder is feeding from an institution with different individual networks and multiple public facing IPs. Is there a way I can link the feeder to the account manually?
For anyone dealing with this problem in the future:
The biggest hurdle was identifying the address of the pi on my institutions network so I could ssh into it. After mapping the local network and attempting to ssh into my co-workers printer, I was able to find it and get in.
The next great hurdle was finding the FEED_UID for the script. You might notice that in order to link your feeder you need that information, and for ADSB-X to give you that information you need to link your feeder. What worked for me was running adsbexchange-showurl once I was in the pi to get the feeder shortID. This was accepted.
Everything looks all set from my account. Thanks again.
